Vayam | Kathak dancers put forth a mesmerising show

Uplifting Aurangabad’s cultural scene, Vayam –a Dance and Music Festival took place in the city recently. Around 25 dancers from Mahagami performed on Mahagami's completion of 22 years as a part of this festival. Young disciples of Guru Parwati Dutta were gleaming stars of the evening as they put forth a scintillating series of Kathak recitals. The troupe commenced their dance recital with Krishna Vandana and Bandish, moving to Sargam, Jhaptaal Rachna, Shesh Fana and Jhoola which was concluded by Dhamar Rachana –a composition describing ‘Lakshan’ of Taal Dhamar through rhythmic structure, majestic flavour and colourful renditions in dance. An evening of grace, expression and dedication was highly appreciated by the audience of Aurangabad.
